Conor McGregor says hell appear in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

“Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is slated to be a hit and not just because its creators decided to bring back nuclear weapons — the popular video game will also boast some significant star power in the form of Conor McGregor. On Friday, the UFC featherweight champion announced he’ll star in the project alongside Jon Snow, or as the “Game of Thrones” character is known in real life, Kit Harington.

McGregor, who has reportedly already filmed scenes for the project, hasn’t announced what his role is, exactly, but it’s highly likely it won’t stray far from McGregor’s reputation as a sharp-tongued Irishman.

Harington, meanwhile, will hold down the lead part as the head of the first-person shooter game’s bad guys.

This will be McGregor’s first foray into acting, though he previously had turned down roles in films, including one offered by Vin Diesel to guest-star in the “XXX” series.

Mark Wahlberg has also expressed interest in casting McGregor in a movie.

“In the right role, he could be great,” Wahlberg told TMZ Sports last year.

Video game fans will hope Wahlberg’s right. “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is slated to be released for all gaming systems Nov. 4.

McGregor is currently enjoying a break from fighting after beating Nate Diaz in a rematch at UFC 202 last month. On Friday, McGregor posted a picture of himself driving his friends around in a Rolls Royce convertible — one of many luxury vehicles the 27-year-old has posted on his social-media accounts.
