He appeared in fifty episodes of Leave It to Beaver between January 24, 1958, and May 30, 1960. During the 1970s, the bank took a break from operating as a stock and bond vendor for clients. Mathers and co-star Barbara Billingsley were his clientele. During his tenure on the Leave It to Beaver set, Bank learned how to incapacitate ponies, read The Wall Street Journal, and educate himself on tax-exempt bonds. As a result, within three years of starting, he was earning $300,000 a year in a Los Angeles firm.
He returned to his role as Clarence Rutherford in the sitcom The New Leave It to Beaver, which aired from 1985 to 1989, nearly a decade later. Still the Beaver (1983) and Leave It to Beaver (1997) are two films that showcase Bank in comparison to the television satire of the same name.
